Javier Blasco Zumeta, elementary school teacher and expert bird ringer since 20 years, has a deep knowledge about these animals. Naturalist in a broad sense, he organized the inventory of the fauna and flora of Aragon's steppe, finding dozens of new species of invertebrates, and as a result of this, he was awarded with the Cross of Alfonso X the Wise and the Environment Award of Aragon in 2004.
Each document of this Atlas includes:
- The description of the bird.
- Similar especies that can cause misidentification.
- The differences based on sex and age.
- The different moult strategies of each specie.
- Phenology: when the bird lives in Aragon.
- Status in Aragon: locations where it can be found.
Just the images about sex and age are the novelty of this guide, because there is not a similar work in Europe and without this Atlas you should use very specialized literature and technical descriptions.
Laboratorio Virtual Ibercaja offers this didactic resource with the aim to be consulted by teachers and students.
